Gens Cornelius – Genealogica CLXXXIII

it was the etruscan priest Cornelius that sacrified the holy cow, holifying the Temple of Diana, upon the Aventine Hill, to mark the foundation of the Latin League, in the 7th c B.C., as it is said of the prophet, that:

That man’s city was destined to become the greatest in all of Italy and its mistress.

Cornelius had of course stolen the cow from a sabian farmer, but once the cow had been sacrified of the hand of Cornelius, Rome became the city of all eternity.

It still is,

and we are still around.
